All black is often the deuaflt colour because it's the easier to unify (imagine an ensemble full of slightly different shades of red), it's easy on the eyes, and the audience tends to focus more on the music than if the ensemble were wearing different colours. The problem with saying go for it, wear any colour is what one person considers stylish another will consider completely inappropriate. There there's the issue of colour clashing. And in classical music, there are known stereotypes about what kind of dress is associated with certain types of music. Opera performers (and audiences) tend to go all out with style and flamboyance; Baroque performers (and audiences) tend not to consider fashion a big deal and are very low-key with their apparel. Ultimately, no, I don't think ensembles should be able to wear any colour; then it looks like a rehearsal.

  • #3 In reply to Aaron Brown, While you digressed from the sbuject of my comment to denigrate Ford/Mustangs for what seems to be a prejudicial position regarding all things Ford(?), and while I agree with some on merit, I don't find Mustangs to be 'Crappy' or to handle poorly. Though Mustangs do suffer handling issues in some regimes(rough corners, transitions & vertical lift) due to its solid rear axle, it still is a good handling vehicle, though, not on par with the Camaro, and especially the either Genesis coupe. Its solid rear axle also affects normal ride qualities. I found a bigger issue with its front suspension regarding ride. Vegas and the local area, is known for its near perfect tarmac, yet the front suspension dampening on the Mustang was rather harsh when hitting any kind of minor imperfection or expansion joints. You get a real slap from the front suspension, that quickly becomes quite annoying. A speed bump has to taken with real caution, and even then, best approached at a diagonal. Turn in was very quick with good control...a plus...just warn your passenger for an abrupt 90* or 180* so she doesn't have to peel her make-up off of her door window.One thing that can't be denied about the Mustang V-6, especially the automatic version, is that it accelerates like a two year old GT, and that sure put a grin on my face and I have some fast cars in my stable. MPG? Forget getting 31 MPG, or even high twenties, my carefully driven tank netted about 22+ with a combination of road and town. My lets play tank, hit 14 MPG. GM, in reality, always seems to win the MPG wars. I do agree that Ford bean counters take some value out(comparatively/competitively) of Ford products, which in the case of the Mustang has usually meant no IRS and in the past, the 6-Speed tranny. You can find issues with all manufactures if you want to, and realistically, you should find them in your chosen brand. I like them all, so my overview isn't slanted one way or another due to bias.Bottom line is, you have to be fair in your assessments and avoid histrionic denigrations. And you can't have a reality based assessment from a lot of info gathered from the net and magazines. There is well written analysis from some in the business who have the acquired tools/skills to analytically and quantitatively assess vehicles.
